Recently I entered in SimHQ's 2.5 Hours of Daytona race using the ILMS 2.78P mod for rFactor. I am looking to form a team to compete under the Tacticalgamer.com banner in the upcoming 2.5 Hour Endurance racing season starting with the 2.5 of Sebring on March the 20th at 1200 EST/1700GMT. This team would be known as the Tactical Game Endurance Racing Team. The race covers the full 24 hour day/night cycle over the course of 2 and 1/2 hours of racing, leading to intense nose to tail racing where strategy is essential. Drivers can choose from any number of vehicles to drive.
The Basics (FAQ)
Q: What Game is this going to be played on?
A: rFactor 1 with the ILMS v2.78P Mod. When rFactor 2 is released this year we will have to switch over to that, as SimHQ currently plans to do so.
Q: Are these 24 hour races?!
A: Nope, these are 2.5 hour races, i.e. 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Q: Do I need a wheel?
A: Technically, no. The ILMS mod team has gone to great lengths to recreate these cars as accurately as possible, therefore the best experience will be with a wheel and pedals.
Q: What do you mean by a team?
A: Together we will represent Tactical Gamer by upholding the core ethics of the primer, we race together against the other drivers. While there is no points tally, we will race in similarly liveried cars with a team tire/fuel strategy optimized to garner the best results.
Q: I've heard some wacky things about racing as a team, does this mean that you can order me to let you through if I've passed you?
A: There are no Team Orders on the TG-ERT, we work together through strategy to place as high as we can on the time sheets.
Q: Does this mean if I'm driving a GT-2 I am racing against a car 40-50 kph faster?
A: Yes and No, on the overall time sheet all the classes are laid out by position just like any race. This is a class based race, you only really race against cars who are in your class. If you drive an F430, you will not compete against an R8 and so on.
Q: What cars are available to drive?
A: Just as the real Le Mans series there are four classes of cars to choose from LM-P1, LM-P2, LM-GT1, LM-GT2. P1 and P2 are Le Mans Prototype cars, think F1 cars with a body kit, these are the fastest cars on the grid which are also purpose built for racing. GT1 represents highly modified road cars built for racing with more than 25 example of each having been built. GT2 consists of lightly modified road cars with minimum aero and power compared to the other cars.
Porsche RS Spyder
Aston Martin DBR9
Ferrari F430 GT

Q:Where can I get the mod? Added 1/17/10
A: You can download the mod by clicking http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail...le%20Du%20Mans
Q: Where can I download the track? Added 1/30/11
A: You can get it here (Registration required).
The team will consist of no fewer then four drivers, and no more then eight including Test/Reserve drivers. I am looking for as many as five Race drivers other then myself and up to two Test/Reserve drivers. If a driver cannot make a race, one of the Test/Reserve drivers will take their spot for that race. Please fill out the following form if you are interested in racing. Any and all questions please contact me either on Xfire or Teamspeak, or by posting below.
