    Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like they are pulling away resources from other projects (1943 and Onslaught not coming to the PC) and devoting them to bf3

If they don't take inspiration from some of COD and RO functionality (mounting weapons, cover system) I'll be severly dissapointed.

If it has an all-seeing commander, red tags hovering over hidden enemies, or any related nonsense designed for kids, then I doubt that I'll be back to BF.

Good sir, if you would kindly keep 99% of COD features out of BF titles, I think we'll all be happy.

Cover systems can virtually ruin many games. Gears of War comes to my mind. The game is about running to cover, slamming some buttons, and spraying around corners.

"Cover" should not be as easy as a button pressed against flat surfaces. Cover is a concept learned through best practice, not through forced game mechanics.

I find it hard to imagine why you enjoy BC2 so much compared to other titles here at TG, Emale.

BF2, while a very imperfect game, was awesome for the TG enviroment. BF3, I feel, will be similar.

EDIT: At this point DICE could port BF2 to the new Frostbite Engine and I believe it would do well. Not saying that's what they're doing, but I would pay for that.

I have to agree with Skud here mate, keep COD and anything like that arcade nonsense well away from BF please.

I wish I could get to these threads before the wet noodles pee in my cheerios and kill kittens and <insert other saying here> : )

That is fantastic news! I haven't stayed up all night playing a new game, or 'been too sick to go to work', or told the wife I was part of the official QA test team for a game, or woke up with sweaty pits since, hmmmm, since the last BF expansion pack. I hope they get something out this year.

I too would gladly play for just BF2 with an updated engine. I'm also hoping Greasy gets the tools he needs to do his magic.

                    Sexy.

I think that as well as a full new game, they should re-port every BF2 map, that would make me a happy camper.

                      .

                      source

GameInformer posted the cover for their March issue, which features Battlefield 3. The article states the Battlefield 3 website will go live tomorrow (as we guessed) along with a teaser trailer.

I am excited but the Call of Duty comment from DICE scares me to death. Lets hope they mean they intend to knock the king off the hill, not copy his design. And please give us some ability to mod it! Even mini mods and maps would be awesome.
