I am building a new rig just for this...sort of. My machine is 2-3 years old and its time for a upgrade :P Good thing I have about 2k in my savings. There goes my future born child college starter fund :P

If you have a decent CPU you probably don't need to worry about that but graphics is going to be where the real strain is. I have a moderately old Core i7 and it'll last for BF3 for sure.

I think I'm good there. I have the 6950 2gb and flashed it to 6970 specs.....hope it will come close to being able to max the game.

I'm pretty sure this is PS3 footage. The difference in graphics between the console and PC versions is significant, more so than most games I've played recently. If you can max this game out, it looks absolutely ridiculous.

Technology changes daily, we have moved on to i13 processors but by the time you read this the i15 will be out with a stunning 78 cores!

"Old" i7 which is Bloomfield, was release Nov 2008. Sandy Bridge has a slight performance boost in some apps due to changes in the architecture.
