lets get right down to what matters, squad leading ! ;)
I am interested how you progress with exploring this with the different spawn mechanic and the shear fast pace of the game

Don't suppose anyone knows a way to turn off the Q-spotting "feature" where double tapping marks a flag for attack/defend?
On the couple of occasions SL has fallen on me I keep accidentally (often unknowingly) sending my squad off when I was really just trying to mark threats on the minimap.
Ended up just giving standing orders to ignore my in-game orders. =P
Combat is very simple, there is a first place and a second place. Second place is laying face down in the mud...sometimes, so is first place.

I do not use the Q spot -- I issue all orders verbally.

Please, on behalf of your squad members, do both!

(If nothing else, you get an extra 20pts for everything and anything done in the area of the target flag.)

Yea Q spotting helps a lot if anything to draw visual attention to the flag marker by making it stand out.

                Edited.

                Comment deleted. I confused Q spotting with the uber-ugly BF3 Commo-Rose.

Re: Introduction to Squad Leading: Lesson #1

Suppose I just have to be more careful about hitting Q too often when trying to get enemy troops on the minimap.
That said, I really wish there was a different way to get on screen 3d markers. So I could say "Bravo One, defend east from *that* position." (Drops 3d marker.) Instead of "Hey, you know that three story building over there? ... No not that one, the one with the hole in the wall behind the red ladder. ... Yeah that one. head up top there and defend towards the east."

Requisite tip: (As SL)Don't spam Q to spot targets if there is a flag anywhere near center screen. You'll confuse your squad.
