  • Machine and game stability tip: use Chrome

I throw this out in case it might help someone: launching BF4 from Chrome seems to avoid a lot of machine lockups and game freezes. The game and my machine seem significantly more stable since I've switched to launching the game through Chrome.

I use Chrome for nothing but Battlelog and I suspect that helps. I also have no addons or extensions in Chrome either.

    Hope it helps.

I have a similar situation, I use Chrome most of the time and it is generally full and taking up a good chunk on memory but I have downloaded another Chrome based browser just to launch the game and things are much better.

I could not launch the game using IE because of the Battlelog web plug in, it only worked with Chrome for me.

Also, turn off Notifications in the Origins start box. Select the Origin tab, Application Settings then the Notifications. Clear them all out except the Downloading stuff. After I started playing BF4 I was experiencing Sound loop crashes and after I turned them off it quit.

What Chrome based browser is that? My current Chrome browser has all my tabs and like you said it eats up memory. I am using IE right now and would really like an alternative.

My Battlelog Chrome is only using about 240K of memory. Is that a lot?

I tried chrome all day yesterday in the hopes it would help me. Didn't seem to make a difference in my case.

I gave chrome a try and it had no impact with my performance problems.

Trying this gave me a very nasty piece of malware.

Hmm I haven't had any issue using Iron. No damage intended but that is odd.

i guess it didn't turn out to be that bad when i finally figured out how to remove it, but it was pretty annoying.
