I might stop badmouthing Win8. Not enough of an improvement to warrant an upgrade for me though. Especially since i JUST reinstalled Win7. Nice find though!

      Re: BF4 Benchmarks - W7 vs. W8.1

I use Win8.1 on my rig, and have literally never had any drops below 60FPS with Vsync. Ever.
Multi-tasking is great, absolutely. And you can definitely feel the difference in the OS's CPU usage.

The OS takes some getting used to, and if you're thinking of upgrading to Win8.1 from Win7, hold off.

But Microsoft definitely delivered with Win8.1's performance. No complaints here.

I would be overjoyed to see W8.1 with a W7 UI.

          Been getting used to W8.1.

I had W7 up until 2 weeks ago when I built the new machine. Used W8 for a day and did not like it. 8.1 is a bit better. Honestly it is just re-learning tha tis a pain. I don't like how some "apps" stay open as well. Exclusively use desktop mode.

I use Start 8 to get my windows8.1 to look like windows 7 start screen. I know it's adding a third party app but it works and gets you used to W8 while using a familiar start screen. I jump back and forth with ease now and will probably just drop the Start 8 soon...or not.

I've set up a couple of Win8.1 machines at work now, and they do perform well, and they are not bad to use at all. I intend to install 8.1 on my home machine soon. (My rig will then be officially good enough to run BF4...)
