"VIP Map Pack 7 is on its way to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. This pack will include four maps never before available in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer, two of them being fan favorites Oasis and Harvest Day. As always, this content is free for PC and console VIP players. Read on for the full story."

Re: Four new free maps confirmed

This is great news, given that the current map rotation was getting pretty stale. Anyone here play BC1 that would be able to provide feedback on how these maps would play out over BC2 multiplayer, and how it compares to current maps (e.g. map size, forced chokepoints, etc)?

    EDIT: This isn't promising:

Needs Wake Island IMO. Every Battlefield game had it, BC2 should be no exception.

The timing of the map pack announcement 'coincides' with COD Black Ops coming out tomorrow. How about that?

While I agree, I'd also say since when has BC2 been your standard Battlefield game?

From what I can remember, those two BC1 maps are pretty much the best ones.
In terms of scale Havest Day is very big and rush was loads of fun with differing environments for each pair of MCOMS. I also feel that the map allowed many angles of attack (vehicles, one chopper, flanking options from both sides, sniping etc.)
Well anyhow I think Harvest Day will be a great addition and will probably be one of the most played maps.

              Now, Oasis...
can't say much about it since I think I am confusing that map with another map from BC1 :)
              Both were top notch though.

[UPDATE] So I found my copy of BC1 and turns out I got Harvest day mixed up with another map... My memory is good but short.
Well anyways it is a big wide map. So to clarify: there is no chopper on that map.

I didn't say standard BF game :) I just said that every major iteration of Battlefield games had Wake Island in it on the PC, so it would be cool if it was eventually included.

I second this. Of course it would kinda suck without jets and they'd probably make it hella small.

Check back this Wednesday for an in-depth look at Heavy Metal, one of the largest multiplayer maps ever for Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
This got me even more exited! :) :)

For real new maps instead of just new game modes for old ones is cool.
