Same here. I read on the steam forums that a preload will be up soon though.

So did you guys delete the beta completely?

By the way, here is the thread on steam forums about the preload:

          [BFBC2 Steam Preload

Lots of people not happy it hasn't already preloaded.

Same thing happened with L4D2. Preload happened and then the harsh reality of the Steam "game verification process" starts after they released it. That seemed to take almost as long as the preload. The game will come out and life will go on for all of us in the Impatient Nation. :)

Woot, pre-loading now from D2D. Thanks for the heads up.

I was afraid downloading would be delayed till the official launch time.

See you folks in game tomorrow.

Bugger, I need to do this tonight or else I will no doubt take 3 days to DL it once the masses start.....

I'm about to cancel my order on Steam. Steam can shove it if they actually plan on going this way.

I am tempted to do so as well...D2D costs the same, plus I might actually be able to play the game tomorrow morning before work instead of waiting until 10pm after work and classes are done...

                      Re: Pre-load.

I believe EA is withholding the content from Steam, so Steam can't do the pre-load...or the rumor that DICE installer for Steam is having problems. Someone should have negotiated a better contract or the devs on Steam are not cutting it. Either way, I never expected to play the game at the exact release time. Even if I did pre-load it, I'd still have to decrypt that sucker which is going to take a long time because everyone else will be doing the same at that time.

The pre-load thing is going to suck, sure it may unlock tomorrow at whenever, but the servers will be so overloaded, you won't be able to play until Wednesday sometime, I bet. I'm really surprised D2D was able to beat Steam to the punch on this. People keep saying we're being impatience, but I'm already tired of hearing that. I don't want to stand in line at Gamestop either. I'm still jealous retail is having a midnight launch though.

Any others that have used other digital retailers other than Steam for their preoders?
