  • Feedback Requested: Rotations across our servers under mixed gamemodes

    The mixed gamemodes experiment went well on the hardcore server so we are rolling this out to the others servers. ATM we just have a simple rotation of all the maps on the servers. Based on your feedback we can tune each server to whatever is desirable. Maybe thats the same rotation across all servers or maybe for example the former conquest server will have a conquest bias while still being mixed. Go play and let us know what you think over the coming weeks.

    p.s. Server names will be corrected when the servers actually quiet down

    Yay.

    Due to the limited amount of maps right now I usually get bored and switch servers (and end up waiting 5-10 minutes trying to do so). This will make it a lot more varied.

      WHAT! NOOOOOOOOO!

      "Experiment went well..." What? It was annoying as hell! One round Rush, the next Conquest... you don't even have the chance to be able to retaliate on the same map or get into the pace of the game mode.

      This is a terrible, terrible idea, please get rid of it.

        I love the mixed game modes, but really want two games per map. If I lose I want a chance to get payback.

        Conquest rounds can be really short too, one round just aint enough

          Since rounds aren't played twice, will it be the case that one team will always be the attacker and the other team always the defender in rush mode situations?

            Experiment was stability and whether the admin tool that allows us to do this works as advertised - with 5 maps per mode we were always headed this way. Variety = good

            Two rounds per map is probably doable. Attacker vs defenders balance is something we'll be looking at.

                Two rounds per map would be ideal, but even if its just 1 round per map its definitely better than only one mode.

                      Server 1 just went through two Rush maps back to back where the same team was defending each.

                        I must speak out against 2 rounds per map, it makes the maps feel trite and people are more easily burnt twice in a row. 1 round a map provides more flow just need to make sure that when rush comes up the defenders of the first round get on attack on the next map.

                          I prefer non-mixed. If I want to play rush, I don't want to be switched over to conquest.

                          I personally despise conquest with a passion and don't want to have to keep switching servers every round.

                            I think the change will be interesting, however I am unable to comment on this until I have played it for a few days to see how it manages to turn out.

                              Agreed. I'll try it out when I get a chance and then comment on it. Could be nice though, especially with the limited number of quick maps.
