  • Not sure if I'm goign to keep this installed

Im not sure if I enjoy this game anymore, to be honest, it seemed better when everyone was on the same level, but with the people who play non stop, I cant even get a kill anymore
Anyone else have the same feeling I do? It seems like I wasted my mother's money preordering it, theres no gameplay like PR was, no teamwork to speak of honestly, its just a buynch of chickens with their heads cut off, with M60s and C4......and 1 out of 3 your servers are full, and I get kicked cause of the 30 person limit...........Someone want to help me with this conundrum of whether I should try to keep playing or not?

Being a low level is only a disadvantage for the first 15-20 hours of gameplay, when you don't have the desired unlocks. Even then, I wouldn't say you're at a huge disadvantage since the default guns are more than serviceable. Guns like the T88 and the XM8 are unlocked pretty early, and are among the better guns of their respective classes. If anything, I'd say most of the time, the gun used acts as a tiebreaker. From my experience, the guy who gets the kill isn't the guy with the better gun, but the guy who gets the first few well placed shots, or the guy that employs better tactics (evading, using their surroundings, etc).

As for teamplay, I'd argue teamplay has definitely risen the last few weeks. Granted the TG servers are usually full, but you're almost guaranteed to always get teamplay on those servers. I've found good teammates in other pub servers. Sure you'll get your share of selfish teammates, but to say that players out there are just using M60's and C4 is pretty huge generalization.

      IMO
The way I perceive it is that there are already a whole load of TG folk who have shelved this game till voip arrives
I suggest you consider this (instead of deleting the game), when we have squad voip this game will be transformed, until then it does not really give the team game that TG does oh so well
I repeat, this game will be TRANSFORMED when VOIP arrives

Are you using TG-Team Speak 3? Communication is required for team work. If no one is talking, pick a squad mate and support them with ammo, health revives, etc… and see if the respond.

Most of the time I get a kill, do a revive and then die (without a revive). Other times it’s: spawn (mortar strike) die, spawn (vehicle fire) die, spawn (target rich environment) die, spawn (hey look it’s a grenade at my feet) die, spawn (in front of firing teammate), etc…

I find the team work and comradely out weigh the defects of the game.

I would agree with the statement that when VOIP is fixed game play will be improved. However, TS is not a perfect solution to lack of VOIP. When I play BC2 I get into the mindset of "how can I do the most good and do decent at the game at hand?". Sometimes I will protect bomb sites on rush maps, others I will seed (being in a good spot for squad to spawn on you and telling them to do so) for my squad and others I just run around capping flags and destroying objectives by myself.

If you are that frustrated with it I would set it aside (leave it installed unless you need the space) and wait till VOIP is fixed and works 100% of the time.

Now that's the game I know...

Kidding aside, these replies basically sum it up. Try joining on TeamSpeak with other TG folks, you will see a change in how the game is played, better teamwork approaches and your survival rate will improve. You will also get revived more often too!

ive done the TS thing, but it isnt the same, you got too much going on there, and honestly I havent played for like a month.....SO I'm so far behind that theres no way to really climb the ladder without giant amounts of frustration

Re: Not sure if I'm goign to keep this installed

You win some, you lose some. Some nights, you lose them all. Some nights, you win them all. Take it for what its worth. It's good to switch sides when the other team is getting beat to a pulp but sometimes it's in your best interest to stay on the winning team and smash the other side. If you don't, you will burn out fast and quit.

I know for a fact that I do not log in and jump on TG servers to sit there and lose constantly. Sometimes I find myself on a side with nobody on teamspeak and it gets frustrating real fast. I try my best and try to sort the team out through chat. If that fails, I simply log off for about an hour.

Another thing to keep in mind, if your team is losing, spawn in the back base. Look at the map and see what your team is doing. Where are they moving? Why are they failing? Why are we getting beaten so bad? Try to answer those questions and then organize. If you are getting your butt kicked, do the same thing. Why are you getting killed so much? Why does the enemy constantly see me before I see them?

It's all about adapting. Don't just spawn in and run at a flag or MCOM. Look around and think. "If I take this southern route, there's a lot less chance the enemy will see me there. If I come in with recon balls, I will see the enemy even if he is there." This is worst case scenario since it assumes you have a pubbie squad with nobody on teamspeak.

If you have people on TS, relay the plan and get a good squad layout.

So to your post whether you should stay or quit. You should stay. I think you have just had a few bad games and experiences without experiencing the good games.

Re: Not sure if I'm goign to keep this installed

It really all falls back on you Delta. Its how YOU feel about the game. No posts from us or anything is going to change how you feel about a game. If a game makes you happy by all means keep playing, but if you just cant get into it don't stress out over it. Because in the end, its all just a game and its for YOUR entertainment. So, if you arent feeling it, try something else :) Or try playing a different way, change things up. If that doesn't work move on. I am not trying to tell you to stop playing and deminish the ranks of BC2, but I am also not going to try to convince you to keep playing a game that you dont enjoy, that is just counterproductive to the gaming experience.

All in all, it boils down to how you feel playing the game. :D

Teamspeak has definately evolved since release. People get the hang of the unwritten/unspoken rules quick and chatter is gone, and strategy has improved. I do miss being in teamspeak and taunting or cursing a player on the other team in teamspeak, as well as the between round chatter, but that's life. I am learning, strategy in general is improving, and I am enjoying it more now than at the start. Still like 2142 better for some reason though.

TG is fun and all, but it's easy to get wrapped up in the community and forget that you're not actually enjoying the game. Got to ask yourself if you're playing BC2 for the game or the community.

Give it a fair shot, probably to lvl 20ish. If the game is still not fun, you should not play it. :)
