Soo... essentially hardcore minus the damage boost and 3rd person vehicles, that seems easier to say.

Hardcore on? Also you can put in the text that snipers are restricted to 4 per team and it actually works to help deter players from all going sniper. Back it up with admin to help get the point across.

This is not allowed on ranked servers.(restricting kits)

We will keep it as it's set now for a while to gather feedback then see if we want/need to turn normal HC on. I don't have an issue trying normal HC after the first trial period.

I actually like the looks of that setup....so is it all conquest? or mixed?...didn't know if you changed that at all.

Yes i know but you can still put in the text that it's restricted (even though it's not) it's called a soft rule, it does work and a few servers do it.

                  Unranked isn't a problem either.

Yeah, I have played on a few servers with those soft rules, one where you weren´t allowed to use the CarlGustav on infantry, I spawned in and was promptly hit in the face with said weapon. I guess some people aren´t all that keen on soft rules :)

                      Re: Server 2 Experiment

How could you not play with a carl gustav! lol yeah that's just not a rule that's gonna get respected. See the thing is when you have a group of players that like to have good games, the good rules get respected and enforced even if they aren't server enforced. At tg we try to use teamwork with a squad so we naturally spread our kits out to be effective and useful. This follows through in hardcore mode too.

Case and point: At css we always had this rule of blind firing. There's no way to control that on the server but the players respected the rule and took it upon themselves to not only avoid doing it but inform other players from doing it too. If players continually decided they didn't want to follow the rule they were warned/kicked/slayed w/e was needed to get them to follow the rule or leave. It was one of those things that pushed the game to a deathmatch frag fest rather than about thinking and tactics.

I tell you what though , a team full of medics is just as bad as a team full of snipers. Talk about going nowhere.

anyway back on topic, thanks project for taking the effort to get this moving. We need variety for bc2 and this is the way to do it.

WTB Minimap and Minimap spotting (how much do you guys want?). At the least minimap so you can see where friendlies are :). Thanks for making the change, hopefully we can get quite a few people on this weekend to test it out.

Any reason why 3P vehicle cameras were kept on? If you're going for realism, the ability to float outside your body and view the vehicle you're riding in from the outside would seem a poor fit.

We can not enforce in any manner a rule(hard/soft) that dictates what kit/weapon/vehicle you can or can not play. Over the summer various admin tools built in methods to put in place kit restrictions but Dice pushed back and had them take that functionality out.

Really though this problem takes care of itself on our servers when the internal community supports the server and spreads our style of play. The hardcore server even when it was being used daily wasn't supported with the necessary numbers needed to achieve that and accordingly it suffered with various problems like poor team kit layouts.
