  • Thoughts on "Q-Orders"

I'm talking about attacking and defending specific flags and MCOMs. In BF2 and 2142, these were the squad leader orders, often passed down by the commander. In BC2, it plays a smaller role, since we no longer have assigned squad leaders. On top of that, it seems like multiple players - but not all - have the ability to assign orders (I still can't figure out who can and can't do this).

My point is, lately, we've organized ourselves within TS to limit squad channels to our squad, more or less. Communication within squads appear to be great, or at least good enough to do the job and remain organized. However, this benefit is limited to those of us in TS, so anyone NOT in TS isn't a part of the organization & teamwork. I bring these Q-orders up because before I joined TG, I would actively follow these orders in BF2, 2142, and BC2 if it appeared the player assigning these orders was active about it and followed it out. I am sure there are others not in TS who would be willing to follow orders if he/she noticed all the other members in their squad are following these orders.

With active & proper use, do you think it can be an effective way of incorporating teamwork and organization with those in your squad, but not in TS?

I think you addressed all your own points.

It can be used to help coordinate even with everyone in TS. If you have someone in charge of the squad, and he says "Lets defend Alpha from the high side" a little blinking cue can only help.

    So, yes. :)

I think the Q-orders work similar to q-spotting. Once someone in your squad gives an order none in your squad can issue an other one until you get points for completing it. Each kill in the order area is 20 points i think, not sure how many of those you need to get to be able to issue an other one.

I know you can press Q to give orders at things like Mcoms and flags, but I swear sometimes when I'm shooting near these objectives it starts throwing out orders randomly that I did not actually give. Can anyone explain this? It happens even when I'm not pressing Q.

It might be your squad mate that is issuing the order.
