  • Bloom?

While playing earlier today, I overheard some TG folks talking about turning off bloom. They were saying that by doing so it would remove the brightness or glare and maybe even improve performance. Anyone know if that's true? Anyone know how to do it?

Open settings.ini and scroll down to the like "Bloom=true"
Change it to false and save. Do not set to read-only.

Makes the bright maps like Arica harbour bearable.

Performance boost? I don't think so. Maybe if you have an computer on the lower end of the power scale you can get a small FPS increase. I play with High settings DX9 and get a frame rate of 80-90. With DX10 it drops to 40-50 still playable but I can sacrifice some of the eye candy for a smother ride. It do take away some of the shiny brightness Dice like soooo much but not as much as I think it did in the beta. You can also turn down the brightness in game. I lowered it from 55 to 40 and that really helps on the big desert maps.
