Now if they could fix the 4xxx versions aswell it would be nice ;)
When I count, there are only you and I together
But when I look ahead up the white road
There is always another one walking beside you
Gliding wrapt in a brown mantle, hooded
I do not know whether a man or a woman
- But who is that on the other side of you?
I would highly recommend that you check to see which 10.4 Preview driver you loaded. 10.4 has some serious issues that will not be apparent for a couple of days. 10.4a was just released on 4/21 and I have not loaded it yet to try. I assume the "a" version is a fix for the original 10.4. I'm hoping so.
The problems for me were very deceptive. The original 10.4 worked perfectly for a day and a half. But as my gaming hours passed, the game became less responsive. During re-spawns I would notice that the video and sometimes the sound would freeze. Then, during the game there would be brief instances of huge lag, (or freezes). Finally the game would crash with the message that I'd "Lost connection".
Suffice to say without going on and on about the resulting problems, version 10.4 is terribly flawed. Whether or not it's flawed for all systems remains to be seen, but is sure screwed up my system, royally. I am loading 10.4a today.
PS - Yes Spyder, ATI drivers are ALL a PITA to load. :)
I don't know what you guys are doing to have problems loading drivers.....it's pretty simple for my 4890, I let the utility un install, restart, install new, restart.....Game ON!!! never have any problems. For the record 10.4A rocks, my game is loaded in 5 seconds flat as opposed to loading and having the first Mcomm blown up with the old drivers.
