  • Mapping problems

    I'm making a map (so far it's only a house). I made one floor, a skybox, and an attic. It's all textured. When I tested it and went into the attic, yellow, white and red spots appeared everywhere:



    But when I turn my flashlight on, the spots go away:



    Is this because of lack of light in the room?

    What you are seeing is caused by having a really distant lightsource filtering in. If they persist after you're "done" with the lighting, adjusting the luxel level on the faces, or adding a few very-faint dummy lights can fix that up. But yeah, Source lighting is weird some times.

        I have a tendency to key out three or four things and then let them battle for supremacy while I key, so there's a lot of backspacing as potential statements are slaughtered and eaten by the victors. ~

          Its a lightmap problem on props/models Not sure how to fix it Ive had that problem before.

            Problem solved. It was just a lack of light. When no light is touching a surface, it goes crazy.
