  • All Red Orchestra 2 DLC will be Free

    See: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1979419

    Pertinent information:
In our first post launch DLC we plan to add 2 tanks, 2 troop transports and more. Most likely a map and some things that might have slipped the launch of the game (along with the general host of bug fixes).

    It will be free.
There will be additional vehicles, maps etc for the base game. Those will be free, as always. Probably won't be "vanity packs" as this is a realism-focused game, so bling doesn't fit too well!

We are looking at doing expansion packs for money down the road - but those will be about the same size as the base game, including MP and SP etc etc.

As always, Tripwire's support for their community is outstanding while the multi-million dollar budgeted games from major publishers have to bleed you for every cent.

Well looks like I didn't just spend $35 I didn't have for nothing. :) Free DLCs, now that's the way to do it. Very meaty expansion packs for money. That's the way. Now if only other companies follow suit.

For all the hype over free DLC, what I'm most excited for is the SDK/mod tools and map maker. I played Day of Defeat Source for about 2.5 years, and the things the mapping community did in that game with the Hammer editor (map maker) were just mind blowing. I'm expecting some truly great things from the mappers and modders who jump on RO2
