  • Some things I've learned in my short month of play.

I've been playing a good deal lately, and I've learned that this game requires a lot more teamwork and strategy, or at least supports a lot more of this, than other team-based games on the market. So below are some of the general tactics I've learned,

    Light Tanks
    *Counter Scout Destroyer
    *Scout
    *Forward Observer for Artillery
    *Anti-artillery

    Medium Tanks
    *Counter Light Tank/Scout
*Countering Heavy Tanks with speed + maneuverability
    *Countering other Mediums
    *Observer
    *Attack and Defense Force Support

    Heavy Tanks
    *Primary Attack Units

    SPG's
    *Direct Fire Support
    *Counter Artillery Suppression

    TD's
    *Static/Dynamic Direct Fire Sniper Support
    *Attack Force Support
    *Stactic/Dynamic Base Defense

So, seems Like I've gotten down pretty much every use I can think of for each tank. It does seem like thee only thing Heavies are good for is pure head-on attack, but that's because I've only played with one. So far for me? I ADORE my StuG III and it's gotten up to 80 battles since I got it. It's tricked out with camo net, bino's, gun rammer and I love the Long70 gun. So yeah, all and all I love this game. Just some minor observations from a noob.

Sounds like you've got the general ideas locked down.

Of course there's Russian fast heavies which crossover with medium tank roles, German support mediums that act more like tank destroyers, American turreted TDs that flank very well... But even they don't really stray all that far from this formula.

And I concur that WoT is one of the best games I have seen as far as the teamwork aspect being absolutely critical to victory. TG has had some fantastic times running company battles, I only wish there was enough of us that we could do it a little more regularly.
        Teamwork and Tactics are OP
