Absolutely! I'm a security specialist for the DoD these days so I'm always up for this type of stuff!

Useful site. Not so much security related. Good podcast (too much rambling).

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

I am planning to use CA Security Command Center to gather and analyse logs from various systems and create reports. Any opinions?

Rasta-GR: I have not used CA Security Command Center, but have dabbled with several opensource log analysis products. Have a look at OSSEC.

Am more of an Army IT guy. Depending on the post you are at, determines our ability to do Systems Admin/ Net Mang. Ft Riley is almost completely controlled by our Net Enterprise Center and we are not allowed to do much but enter trouble tickets. We do have some really cool tactical toys to play with, so I guess that helps.

Just wanted to give this group a bump and say hello. I am making my way up the ladder in IT. Went to school for Network Administration and Network Security, got two degrees and now am working the long list of certifications that my school provided me. I have three of them down and 6 to go. But I am really wanting to make my way down the Linux path. So please be nice to this noobie when I drop in and ask some questions that you seniors might take for granted. :)

Job hunting sucks cause I am lacking experience, but I am just now able to work on the Wachovia/Wells Fargo merger however low on the ladder I am. I did a little baby sitting the last weekend and now I am decommissioning their servers in the next week.

Glad I found this group and will start being more active in it.

I manage the Pharmacy systems for 15 hospitals in our area. We are mostly a Siemens shop but we also work with many other products. Our big focus these days is on the Gov't mandate to meet meaningful use with Provider Order Entry.
