I just started on a project for work using C#... It hates my old school C skillz. I really like the interface that VS2005 offers. Yea, I'm behind the times.

I do vb/c# (prefer vb) school and city accounting and personal tracking. We host the data on our servers and provide both windows and web interfaces.

I guess we have about 80% of the school districts in Oklahoma.

I'm using C# w/ test-driven development (TDD) to follow a model-view-presenter (MVP) design pattern for a brand new business application the customer wants. It's quite laborious writing all of the unit tests up front, but the satisfaction of solidifying requirements so early in the lifecycle and knowing that the end product is so much more likely to be very stable is very satisfying.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Wyxcrack, your post brings up something I have been wondering. This social group thing doesn't seem set up for discussions. But I would like to discuss your experiences with TDD so far. I have started doing the whole tamale with TDD but gave up early on because, well it is very tedious. I do write unit tests for most the methods but I write the code first.

          Howdy my fellow devs!

Old vb developer switched to C# - never looked back. Software is used by multi-employer benefit funds (unions) to track pension, annuity, healith eligibility, COBRA, blah blah blah. Also developed and maintain web site for youth baseball league that I'm heavily involved in.

Those using C# may be interested to know that the XNA developers studio and community , available for free from Microsoft, is using C# as part of a game programing plug in for Visual Studio C# Express 2005 (free download). This is a project which allows you to code once on your PC and then compile for Windows or X-Box ... allowing you to write games for your PC or X-Box, which can be loaded up to a community site for others to share.

            Find more about it here.

            http://creators.xna.com/en-US/

Expect to see C# becoming more popular as a game development language in the future as it closes some of the loopholes and leaks that are easily created by mistake in C++ .

As much as I loathe (vb).NET but it seems it's all companies want now a days. I do love how easy it is to integrate AJAX into projects with it though. I'm fresh out of school with my associates in Software Applications and programming.
