tv reporter killed by us fire...
heard about the al-arribya reporter who was reporting from the scene of a destroyed bradley when an apache apparently launched (to destroy the vehicle and prevent looting)? There was a small crowd around vehicle at the time, so several were killed.
I wonder if the ROE were broken or if a miliion pamphlets have been distributed warning Iraqis to stay clear of american vehicles, in any condition, because they may be destroyed to prevent looting etc.
With regard to the press's "right" to go anywhere at any time for any reason and answer to no-one, well, those days are coming to an end, aren't they?

Re: tv reporter killed by us fire...
it isnt the first time the US soldiers have killed a reporter. an ITV reporter was killed last year by american marines opening fire on a UN Media marked white land rover.
and us Planes opened up, get this, surprisingly on their own special forces.
thats right, special forces were escorting media vehicles and militia armies working inside iraq, the order was given by the special forces comander to open up on a tank (or group of tanks) and amazingly the plane launched and killed members of the convoy.
included in that was 2 special forces soldiers and one translator, aswell as a few of the militia that the SF were working with.
its sad, but unfortunatly true.
we had a panorama report on it.
