    de_Contra

We have a new map on the servers: de_Contra

How about some feedback from you guys as to how you like it?
ATM it's not in the rotation so we have to change it manually until it does or doesn't pass the test.

Also it seems like some people are seeing the signs for the bombsites as purple squares.
At first it looked like an ATI thing but at least one ATI guy didn't have the problem and at least one nVidia guy did.
I don't (BFG 6800GT OC overclocked even further, running 70.78 beta drivers)

Let us know what you think of the map, and if you find a fix for the purple squares.

its interesting.. it'll be hard to get good tactics for it.. cause there are so many directions to learn and take... but i like the openness.. it will defently require lots of teamwork.. i'll play it more and tell you what i think again..

Hard to say. Right now it seems ok (minus those annoying squares) but I only played it once so....

    Re: de_Contra

The purple squares could just be a missing texture file. If that happens you get a checkerboard pattern in the areas affected.

I think mostly ATI users are getting it. Can anyone speak against this? Maybe those of you with older nvidias as well.

The link Tempus gave me to install it on the server:

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

I think ROOT was having the issue as well. Yes, he has an older Nvidia.

No graphical glitches here; ATI AIW Radeon 9600XT.

It looks to be an awesome map.

    Re: de_Contra

Hmm... Maybe because of the direct download instead of from the server?

Don't know but I'm going to try to do a DDL of it tonight to see if that makes any difference. I'm using an ATI 9600 XT as well but am currently seeing barney's everywhere.

I downloaded and installed this map from this link and it got rid of my purple checkerboards!

If you don't know where to extract the files to, they go here: C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\Your_Steam_Login_name\ counter-strike source\cstrike

Well there goes the ATI theory!
I also got it from http://www.downloads.wdgamers.net/m...ntra_source.zip
I have a Ati X800 pro, and I have the dreaded purple lurgy!!
